Youth Baseball Academy Teams on Long Island
Year‑round skills training, small‑group coaching, and games that keep kids enjoying the game while they improve.
Players ages 6–10 are eligible for Sharks Baseball Academy. Academy teams compete at the 7U–10U levels, with eligible 6-year-old players evaluated for placement based on age, development, and roster availability.
- Fundamentals first: hitting, fielding, throwing, base‑running and baseball IQ.
- Age‑appropriate training
- Positive coaching that builds confidence and a love for the game.
- Indoor winter training; outdoor in‑season practices.
- Optional specialized clinics and training.

Sharks Baseball Academy
Winter Workouts: Our winter workouts keep players active, improving, and engaged indoors during the off‑season—so they return to the field confident and ready for spring. (Various locations in Nassau County)

Skill Retention: “Reinforce mechanics in a controlled environment—less distractions, more reps.”

- Swing development: stance, balance, timing, and repeatable mechanics.
- Defense: glove presentation, footwork patterns, clean field‑ball‑throw
- Game IQ: short situational games, base‑running decisions
Outdoor In‑Season Practices: Held at our New Hyde Park fields (2438 Marcus Ave). Players practice twice weekly, focusing on live fielding, base‑running, situational hitting, and team play. Scrimmages and local games give kids a chance to apply what they’ve trained indoors during the winter.
In-Season Games & League Play (Spring–Summer):

All Sharks Academy teams (ages 7–10) participate in local league play during the spring and summer.

Players practice twice per week and compete in weekly league games.

Focus: applying fundamentals from training in live game situations.

Goal: building confidence, teamwork, and baseball IQ in real competition.
Tournament Opportunities (9U & 10U)

Select 9U and 10U teams participate in weekend tournaments throughout Long Island, Tri-State area and Ripken Aberdeen, MD

Tournaments offer a higher level of competition, preparing players for travel baseball at 11U+. (Baseball U LI)

Emphasis is on sportsmanship, resilience, and team bonding while experiencing competitive fun.

Parents receive a seasonal tournament schedule in advance.
Fall Season Games & League Play (Fall):
The Fall season marks the beginning of a player's new baseball year. Players move up to their next age level and begin developing with their new team as they prepare for the following years Spring and Summer seasons
- Players compete at their new age level beginning in the Fall.
- Two practices each week focused on skill development and team instruction.
- Weekend league games against competitive local teams.
- Tournament opportunities for select teams.
- Continued emphasis on individual development, baseball IQ, and team play.
- Coaches evaluate player progress and prepare athletes for the next stage of their development.
